When you contribute articles or translations, we store the content you submit along with your user ID and the timestamps of your contributions.

We automatically collect basic usage data such as which articles are viewed, to maintain view counts. We do not track individual users across sessions.

We use your information to:

• ✓Create and manage your Marapedia account.
• ✓Display your username alongside articles and contributions you have made.
• ✓Allow editors and administrators to review and manage content.
• ✓Send important account-related emails such as password resets.
• ✓Improve the encyclopedia and understand how content is being used.

Marapedia does not collect payment information, precise location data, or device identifiers beyond what is necessary to serve the application.

We do not serve advertisements and do not share your data with advertisers.

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to any third party.

Your data is stored securely using Supabase, a trusted backend platform. All data is encrypted in transit using HTTPS.

Passwords are never stored in plain text. We use industry-standard authentication practices.

While we take reasonable measures to protect your information, no system is completely secure. We encourage you to use a strong, unique password for your account.

All articles, translations, and contributions you publish on Marapedia are public. Your username will be displayed alongside your contributions.

Content you contribute may be edited, improved, or moderated by other community members and administrators in accordance with our content guidelines.

You have the right to:

• ✓Request deletion of your account and associated personal data.

Marapedia uses only essential cookies required for authentication and session management. We do not use tracking or advertising cookies.

Marapedia is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can delete it.

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the effective date at the top of this page. Continued use of Marapedia after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
